Weekend tarot card - Queen of Cups

The Queen of Cups makes an appearance today to suggest that your emotions and feelings will play an important role this weekend. This card is about having a firm grip on your emotional responses and being perceptive about what's going on around you.

Whatever your situation may be this weekend you will find it relatively easier to navigate your course through emotional challenges. You would be able to influence people around you with your understanding and unique ability to know what's best for everyone. Someone in your life may also have this sort of strong but calming influence this weekend.

The key theme of this card is emotional maturity and listening to your inner voice. An insight about a person or situation at this time would likely be correct so make sure to follow up on that. In terms of events, this may point to a time when you would appreciate domestic comforts and prefer to remain indoors rather than go on exciting, adventurous jaunts. You may want to interact less this weekend and engage in more solitary pursuits like watching television, browsing the net or just day dreaming.

Honour your own as well as others' privacy this weekend and offer support or advice only when specifically asked for otherwise it may seem intrusive. Enjoy a rejuvenating break in routine and have a lovely weekend!

Tarot card for Friday - The Devil

Today's card is the Devil and this comes as a reminder that we may have been blocking our energy by being unaware of our power.

The temptation to let ourselves be guided by our unconscious habits, social conditioning and materialistic desires is often too overwhelming. It is the easy way out and seems like the most comfortable option. Yet this comfort ends up undermining our freedom and disempowers us. Ask yourself if you are feeling restricted by or trapped into a cycle of mindless materialism.

This card points to several behaviours that may not be inherently negative but become vicious under the force of undisciplined desires. All excesses fall under this category. Are you eating or drinking too much? Shopping too much? Working too hard? Being overly concerned with appearances? Ask yourself where you feel a sense of imbalance and what areas of life have fallen into such patterns that you find unable to change.

There is a need today to come out of your comfort zone and understand that you are totally responsible for your actions. Any time you want, you can take those chains off your neck. Something needs to be changed before it results in chaos or apathy. Recognise this opportunity to move towards a more empowering way of life.
Have a great day!

Tarot card for Thursday - Temperance

Today's card is Temperance from the Rider Waite tarot deck and this points to balance and harmony in your life.

This card astrologically corresponds with the zodiac sign of Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter, the planet of good luck and benediction. Any health issues you may have experienced will show improvement. You still need to stay vigilant about your lifestyle choices so follow a balanced diet and excercise plan.

Your energy and vitality is on the rise so this is a good time for healing - both physical and emotional. Being patient is important if you feel things are moving at a slow pace. Be aware of the practical details even as you tend to favour a more emotional approach today. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses will give you a realistic assessment of how much you can achieve in a given time frame and enable you to set realistic expectations of yourself and others.

You may be in an experimental frame of mind today as you try and discover how to get it just right. While an inner knowing guides you, serenity also comes by taking the right action and positive thinking.

This is the day to see things from a balanced perspective and not get trapped by one way of thinking. Focus on harmonious blending of all disparate elements in your life and have fun as you find the right mix of ingredients for your happiness.
Have a great day!

Tarot card for Wednesday - The Moon

Today's card is the Moon from the Rider Waite tarot deck and this points to some hidden aspects of your personality coming to the fore.

Most people are instinctively aware of a shadow part of their personality that dwells deep inside the subconcious mind. A flare of temper, a bout of jealousy or greed, a deep fear or insecurity that cripples us...behavioural aspects that we consciously try to keep suppressed.

It is this side of us that the Moon card shines a light on. The purpose is to acquaint us with the whole of us that includes the good and the bad, the pretty and the ugly, the light and the dark and thus bring greater understanding of our Self. This is the time for introspection and understanding how past issues are affecting your present situation. Sometimes everything in the past cannot be resolved, wisdom is in accepting this and moving on.

There could be minor health concerns, unpredictable reactions, mood swings or confusions in your mind, try not to take everything too seriously because just like the changing phases of the moon, this phase will be over soon. Avoid getting into arguments or emotionally intense situations today. Keep yourself grounded through mundane, daily activities and pay no heed to negative thoughts.
Have a great day!

Tarot card for Tuesday - Ace of Pentacles

This week I am using the classic Rider Waite tarot deck for insight and the card of the day is the Ace of Pentacles.

All Aces in tarot signify beginnings, potential and opportunities. As Pentacles deal with the material and physical aspects of life and carry the energy of the Earth element, this Ace brings an opportunity today to connect with the earthy side of life.

For most people, nothing could be more earthy than carrying on with their monotonous, routine daily tasks. Indeed, this particular card may manifest as anything from the most mundane to the most magical experiences. So today you may want to discover the real magic of life in those mundane aspects that you are often prone to overlook as insignificant.

Appreciate the routine and the steady today because that is the foundation for everything life has to promise. Often we tend to find ordinary life boring, predictable and uninspiring but that same ordinariness gives us the desire to go beyond and seek adventures and challenges. The deeper the roots of a tree go down the earth, the more expansive it becomes in the sky. Recognize what it is that keeps you rooted and strengthen it.

This card also represents money and financial security, the gift of good health, assistance in work and desired results so some of you can look forward to these gifts. A time to count blessings and see the  abundance in your life.
Have a great day!

Tarot card for Monday - Queen of Swords

This whole week I am using my trusty favourite - the vintage Rider Waite tarot deck for insight into the daily themes and influences.

Today's card is the Queen of Swords and this suggests a deep need in your life right now for clarity of mind and truth. Often we lose the sense of purpose behind our actions, going haphazardly  from one experience to another, reacting to events and situations rather than acting with intent. This Queen appeals directly to our rational, intelligent mind and urges us to act with integrity.

This card is a reminder that now is not the time to be emotional or let your emotions cloud your reason. You may have to take a firm stand today or make a decision. Do not hesitate to do the right thing and look to your head rather than your heart for guidance. You may need to also inspire others to do the same. Your words today will have the power of truth and thus may cause some discomfort, especially to those who are living a lie. Do not try and take the easy way out today by being diplomatic. It's time to speak your mind.

You need to tread an independent path today and show inner strength and fortitude. Let this Queen illuminate your mind and direct you to the truth.
Have a great day!

Weekend tarot card - Eight of Cups

Today I am using the Morgan Greer tarot deck to get some insight into the key themes and influences this weekend.

Astrologically, the Eight of Cups card shows the influence of Saturn in the zodiac sign of Pisces. It depicts a person leaving his or her material possessions in search of a missing element. The card suggests loss of interest in day to day work activities, boredom in relationships or missing opportunities. It may also point to a need for more solitude and alone time to rejuvenate yourself physically and mentally.

In a more mundane sense you may be wanting to just relax and spend time doing your own thing. You may try to run away from your responsibilities because of lack of passion for those things or simply because you want to chill after a week of intense activity. There will also be a tendency to avoid getting into emotional entaglements or deal with any communication issues. Remember that this is a temporary phase, a break in action to recharge your batteries, and it may actually be wise to avoid issues of contention at this time.

Saturday being ruled by Saturn, you may find your mood a bit melancholic and cynical, however, Saturn also provides an important lesson about owning your responsibilities and finding the power within. The reduction in energy is a way to allow your body and mind to de-stress and come back more energized. Give yourself the rest and relaxation you need.
Have a lovely weekend!

Tarot Friday - Princess of Wands

Today's card is the Princess of Wands from the Druidcraft tarot deck. This corresponds to the Page of Wands in a traditional tarot deck and represents the potential, attitudes and beliefs that are representative of the element of Fire.

Pages in tarot carry the elemental energy in a relatively less mature fashion and the Princess of Wands reminds us to embrace the attitude of an enthusiastic and adventure loving child and keep an open mind.

This card is all about the thrill of new experiences and discovery. You will be your charming self today, full of high energy and passion and ready for all kinds of fun. You will be dynamic, fearless and expressive, rubbing off some of your zest for life on to others. There will be an opportunity to impress others and dazzle them with your brilliance. Some people may find you a bit arrogant or hot headed today so be careful with your words, especially when communicating with people in authority or your seniors. Temper force or anger with wit and tolerance.

This is a good day to enhance your skills, learn a new hobby and plan for future growth. You need to develop a more mature understanding of yourself as well as others so be ready to learn from your experiences, it could be an important life lesson.
Have a great day!

Tarot card for Thursday - Seven of Pentacles

Today I have drawn the Seven of Pentacles from the Anna K tarot deck. This card represents a time of waiting and the need to stay positive while you go about your daily routine.

Boredom may be settling in as you find yourself wondering if you are on the right track. This is the effect of Saturn on the zodiac sign of Taurus and may manifest as  lethargy, lack of drive, passion and interest and a general reduction in vigour and vitality.

The need to be patient becomes pronounced in case you are awaiting the results of your past endeavours. Remember it will take some time for the tree to bear fruit as you have planted the seeds quite recently. If you find your money or health situation not improving for some time or you're feeling stuck at work this card is a reminder that it may simply not be the right time. More effort may be required from your end before things change.

The other key theme of this card is a need to plan really well for the future and keep yourself motivated. Lack of planning may lead to a situation where further progress is made difficult due to practical considerations and unavailability of resources. You need to keep yourself driven inspite of things moving at a slow pace. Use this downtime to build your skills, further your education and organize yourself better.

Try not to waste time worrying over something beyond your control today. Keep going through the motions, keep yourself busy and remain focused on your target.
Have a great day!

Tarot card for Wednesday - Ace of Wands

Today's card is the Ace of Wands from the Crystal Visions tarot deck. The Aces in tarot represent new beginnings and potential of their elemental energy. The Ace of Wands symbolizes the generative power of the Fire element which provides illumination, determination and courage.

This card is a reminder that there is immense potential for greatness in your life no matter what your actual circumstances are. There is a reservoir of inner strength and willpower in you which can enable you to manifest your dreams and aspirations into a tangible, foreseeable reality, provided you put this energy to work through positive and conscious action. Nothing of consequence is possible without action and being the first card in the suit of Wands, this Ace suggests that now is the time to set a new work cycle in motion.

Some of you may begin a journey/ project or activity today. Your passion, drive and enthusiasm will be inspiring. Just keep in mind that a great start does not mean your work is done. It is only a beginning and much diligence and persistence will be needed to complete it successfully. Sustaining this level of effort may prove to be an uphill task in the coming days so do not get carried away by the initial zeal and direct your efforts through grounded, practical plans of action. Promise only what is realistically feasible. With proper planning and discipline you should find staying on course not only easy but enjoyable.
Have a great day!

Tarot card for Tuesday - Six of Pentacles

Today I am using the Thoth tarot deck to get some insight into the energies of the day. I have drawn the Six of Pentacles which, in this particular deck, is named 'Success'.

The sixes in tarot all stand for harmony and balance in life whether it is with regards to your passions, relationships, thoughts or material assets. Pentacles having influence in the realm of material and physical aspects of your life, this card brings harmony and well being in your health, financial position, day to day work activities and interpersonal relationships.

Astrologically this is a very favourable position of the moon in the zodiac sign of Taurus and represents social and financial success with emphasis on the emotionally benefic aspect of wealth. A feeling of abundance and generosity will prompt the sharing and caring part of your personality to come to the fore. You will find much contentment in being able to help someone in need. Some of you may also be blessed with unexpected assistance in the form of money, time or knowledge.

Sharing and balance are the key themes of this card so be generous with those assets in which you find yourself abundant and others lacking. It will give you deep satisfaction and provide you with a sense of purpose today.
Have a great day!

Tarot Card for Monday - Three of Rods

Today's card is from the Hanson Roberts tarot deck and it is the Three of Rods or the Three of Wands as is traditionally called. Astrologically speaking, this is Sun in Aries and a very energetically strong placement of the Sun. The key themes of this card are expansion, exploration and results.

Being a number three this card represents a time of stability in work and business where the initial order has been firmly established and you are looking at expanding your horizons. You will be concerned about growth and going beyond what has already been accomplished.

Today is a good day to take stock of your progress so far and make future plans. You are assured of high returns and positive outcomes for work done in the past and there is tremendous self confidence, foresight and vision about where you want to go next. Make good use of this high energy today and set a high target for yourself. It's the time to grab new opportunities and enhance your experience in different areas of life. Stay in the spirit of adventure as you begin a new week. Have a great day!

Weekend tarot card - Celebration

This weekend's tarot card is from the Osho Zen tarot deck and it is called 'Celebration'. This is the Three of Cups in a traditional tarot deck with the simple message of making celebration an important part of your life.

The three women in this card are in a moment of pure ecstacy where the wind and the rain do not bother them or come in the way of happiness. Those are little annoyances of daily living that need not hinder us from living our lives the way we want.

If you want to experience the freedom and childlike exuberance of being in the moment then quit concerning yourself with the nagging details that bog you down and kill your joy. Focus on the big picture and find your own reason to celebrate. There's no moment like the present to make merry. Let your happiness be a conscious choice this weekend instead of a reaction to outside events. Allow your mind to consider possibilities and disregard restrictions.

Astrological association of this card is with the planet Mercury in the zodiac sign of Cancer. Your feelings and emotions this weekend are a direct result of your thoughts and would be strongly influenced by the subtle suggestions you expose them to. Stay positive and empowered as you write your own recipe for happiness today.
Have a lovely weekend!

Tarot Friday - The Emperor

Today's card is the Emperor from the Hanson Roberts tarot deck. This is trump number four and is astrologically represented by the zodiac sign of Aries.

This card is concerned with the basic foundation and structures holding our individual lives and communities together. It represents the rules we follow, the societies we belong to and the way we operate in the world. It suggests control of our natural instincts and desires for the sake of the higher common good.

This is a reminder to bring more discipline into your life and take a hard look at things which need to be brought under control. You may have to give up some conveniences and comforts in the present moment for future wellbeing and long term growth.

There may also be a feeling of rebelliousness stirring inside you today. You may be wanting to unfetter yourself from some of the restrictions in your life and seek freedom. Examine your motives for feeling this way and ask yourself if you are ready to take the responsibility for rewriting the rules of your life. In breaking from the existing order you may have to encounter formidable forces. Are you willing to give up stability and peace for the sake of personal freedom?

Aries being ruled by the planet Mars there will be a lot of fiery energy and drive behind your emotions and reactions today. Tread with confidence on your chosen path and think thoroughly about the consequences your actions and thoughts may lead to before disturbing the existing structures in your life.
Have a great day!

Card for Thursday - Nine of Cups

Today's card is the Nine of Cups from the Robinwood tarot deck. As seen in the picture, this is a day of abundance and fulfillment. However, there may also be an element of staging happiness for the sake of others.

Whether you feel blessed with your life or unfulfilled, today is the day to ask yourself what is it that makes you happy and truly assess your sense of wellbeing. Does it arise from an actual sense of accomplishment and pride in your achievements or does its basis lie in your acquisitions? This card is a reminder to separate the reality of our life from the illusion that we maintain for the sake of propriety and social obligations. Are you smiling because you feel you have to or do you really appreciate what you have?  Remember others may be as concerned with appearances as you are so it serves no one to put up an act of smug satisfaction when you know inside things are not as good.

The nine cups in this card represent your different needs and emotions. Some of the cups may need to be emptied, some may need to be filled. Pay attention to what areas of your life need to be refilled with positivity today in order for you to be genuinely happy and contented. The card being ruled by Jupiter your wishes have a great chance of coming true today.
Have a lovely day!

Card of the day - The Magician

Today I am using the Druidcraft tarot deck to get some insight into the key themes of the day.

The Magician is card number 1 of the tarot trumps. This is quite interesting as yesterday we had drawn the last trump, the World, signifying the completion of an important phase or cycle. Card number 1, on the other hand, signifies the conception of a new idea, a fresh start, a new phase or cycle that has been started through conscious action on your part.

This is the time to focus your will on whatever it is you want to accomplish. You may have a strong realization of your own power today and an idea of what you want to do next. You may have a sense of how you can influence things and people to serve your purpose and achieve your goals. You would know exactly what words, gestures and subtle suggestions would work in your favour and give you the desired results. Just keep in mind the huge responsibility that goes along with this power. Question yourself about your own authenticity and integrity and examine your motives before taking action.

Astrologically this card corresponds to the planet Mercury which relates to the intellect and communication. Quick thinking and effective communication skills will give you a strong foundation in which to make your desires a reality. This is the time to be charismatic and confident, put all your resources to work and act with conviction.
Have a great day!

Card of the day - The World

Today's Tarot card is from the Anna K deck and it is the last trump card in the tarot, card number 21, The World.

The image shown is of a tree, as expansive above the ground as beneath it. This is an image of completion and complete unity of the individual soul with the collective consciousness of the world.

This is a most wonderful feeling where contentment, happiness and peace abound. It is the direct result of how good you feel about yourself. There is a sense of belonging and harmony in your life right now. Wherever you may be or whatever you may be doing you feel at home and a sense of accomplishment. Like the roots and branches of this tree, you feel growth in all directions propelling you towards your true destination. The card suggests energetic involvement in meaningful pursuits and a deep awareness of how different things in your life are basically connected by a common purpose. Travel is sometimes indicated by this card as is fame and recognition.

Astrologically the card corresponds to the planet Saturn at its most benefic and rewarding state. Emphasize the positives in your life today and positive outcomes will automatically become a reality.
Have a great day!

Card of the day - Three of Pentacles

I am using the Crystal Visions tarot deck to draw one card that would give us the key theme and influences today.

The image of the Three of Pentacles shows a person immersed in his or her work. Here is a person who has attained some sort of mastery in his or her field and is now skilled enough not only to do his/her own work individually but also to guide others and mentor them along.

Astrological association of this card is with the planet Mars in the zodiac sign of Capricorn. Mars is all about drive, initiative and the force of will. Capricorn is concerned with enhancing one's personal worth and professional reputation. Combining the two we get a very favourable elemental combination of fire and earth energies that gives immense concentration, drive and will power resulting in the creation of something valuable, a piece of work you would be truly proud of.

As the suit of Pentacles deals with everything in the physical, material realm the card suggests taking concrete steps towards building your long term physical assets such as taking care of your health, finances and day to day relationships with people. It is a card of professional learning, mentorship and skill building. You may coach a junior or get trained by your superior. Some of you may start working towards aquiring a new skill.

Focus on doing your best job today, no matter what you do. Excellence is what you would naturally be drawn to as a reward for your hard work. It doesn't matter how big or small the task, you will be driven to doing it with all your heart. And naturally, you can be assured of great returns in the future.
Have a wonderful day!

Page of Swords and the Nine of Cups

Today I am using the Radiant Rider Waite tarot deck to get some insight into the energies this weekend.

The first card is the Page of Swords and this represents the tendency to approach everything in a breezy, intellectual, analytical sort of way. You will be driven by your sharp intellect and your power of reasoning and logic will be impressive. However, there may also be a tendency to be flippant, superficial and detached. You may dismiss your real feelings and emotions about something or someone as an unnecessary distraction and thus miss the point as not everything is explicable by pure logic. Your fresh and original ideas may seem either whimsical or completely outrageous to people around you and you may have a hard time making your ideas seem viable, however eloquently expressed. This is not because of any flaw in your reasoning per se but your lack of experience. Conventional, traditional way of doing things may be offputting to you this weekend and you will crave some intellectual and creative stimulation, including arguments. Engaging in hobbies that fulfill this craving will be uplifting as also opportunities for interesting conversations with different personalities.

The other card is the Nine of Cups and this points to a general feeling of emotional contentment, good health and great joy. Outings and celebrations are likely. Simple, basic pleasures of life such as eating, drinking and sharing your feelings with loved ones will bring much cheer. This is astrologically Jupiter in the zodiac sign of Pisces so overindulgence is a possibility. You will be gregarious and love to share the abundance around you. Just be wary of over emphasizing this happiness as it may give way to lethargy or unrealistic expectations. The influence of Jupiter is extremely benefic and makes your wishes come true so remain in a positive state of mind and visualize what you truly desire.

A good time to connect with people and have meaningful conversations. Avoid excesses in food, drink and speech and try and be open to differing views and opinions while you express your own.
Have a lovely weekend!

Empress and the Ten of Cups

Today I am using the Morgan Greer tarot deck to get some insight into the key themes and influences of the day.

The first card is the Empress and this is symbolic of nature, love, and earthy feminine energy that helps to both create and sustain life on earth. Astrologically this is ruled by the planet Venus and manifests as love and warmth in relationships, good health and fertillity on a physical plane and creativity and imagination on the mental realm. The card expresses itself well in all professional and personal matters, bringing ideas and projects to conception and desires to fruition. You will find success without too much effort on your part and creative ideas will abound. There will be material abundance or at least a sense of abundance, luxury and comfort about you. Take time to nurture yourself physically as well as emotionally by relaxing, spending time in natural surroundings and indulging in wholesome pleasure pursuits. Be open and receptive to any inspiration or idea that strikes you, let it germinate and stir you enough emotionally before taking any action.

The second card is the Ten of Cups and this is a card of material and emotional contentment. There is happiness, passion and true joy about this. Family bonds will be strengthened and provide a great sense of security. Astrologically this card represents Mars in the zodiac sign of Pisces and bestows high energy and good spirits all around. You will derive much pleasure from close relationships and be uninhibited in expressing your love and affection. Pisces energy is typically receptive and passive with great emotional depth, however the effect of Mars would add great vigour and vitality to your feelings today. Your enthusiasm and intensity will draw people towards you and enhance your social appeal.

The interplay of Mars and Venus would manifest beautifully in your relationships today and bring a high degree of attraction, passion and creative imagination to manifest the reality you truly want. Today is not a day to struggle against the current and prove something to the world but to delight in the beauty and lushness of life.
Have a lovely day!

Death and the Magician

Today I am using the Hanson Roberts tarot deck to get some insight into the energies of the day.

The first card is Death and this signifies the end of a cycle or phase in your life and the importance of accepting it. This is the time to let go and adapt yourself to oncoming changes in your situation. What's ended or is about to end has reached a natural and inevitable closure. There is nothing further you can do about this situation and it is best to let life takes its course from here rather than resisting or fighting the forces of nature. Every ending portends the beginning of something new so look forward to what lies ahead of you instead of looking at the past. If you trust in the innate wisdom of the universe you will find this period of transition not only easy but enlightening. It may be the only way to avoid stagnation and allow growth. This may also point to mundane issues like shedding an old routine, end of a project or milestone, end of conflict / relationship issue or a health issue. Whether the ending itself  invokes either positive or negative feelings, remember that it was necessary and would take you forward into the next phase of your life. Acceptance is important as is hoping for the best and staying positive about what is to come.

The second card is the Magician and this points today to a surge of energy and determination to make things work for you. Your will power and desire for action will manifest positive results in your life provided you are able to channel your energy in a clear and focused manner to your goal. Make sure you have all resources and tools of trade handy before you start. This is a good time to do something you truly desire and focus all your energies to that purpose. This card suggests great personal power and much depends on how you use it to serve your purpose, whether you choose to inspire or manipulate. Do not give way to distractions or negative thinking. Astrologically, this is represented by the planet Mercury which is about communication, intellect and the power of expression. With perfect integration of thought, words and action you can make magic happen.

The constant flow of things involving ending followed by another new beginning seems to be the key theme for today. Try and maintain a balance between your emotional and intellectual response to these cyclical forces. And remember true power comes from within when we think and act consciously and with positive intent.
Have a great day!

Nine of Pentacles and Eight of Cups

Today I am using the Thoth tarot deck to get some insight into the energies that would work in our favour and against us.

The first card is the Nine of Pentacles and this is representative of Venus in the zodiac sign of Virgo. This placement of Venus is very favourable for personal development and financial gain, however, it is not the best for close relationships. You may enjoy being on your own today and prefer to be involved in your private pursuits rather than seek out company and togetherness. Financial or material gain is likely. There will be a sense of abundance, good health and luxury about you and because this is something you have earned rather than inherited, you will have a quiet but high regard for your own abilities and feel you deserve the happiness you are blessed with. There will be contentment and a desire to enjoy the fruits of your labour so some of you may go shopping to gift yourself a little something or pamper yourself in some way. A good time to indulge in your creature comforts without guilt.

The other card is Eight of Cups and while it again emphasizes the material and emotional abundance in your life, it also suggests some discontent or boredom with it. You may tend to take your blessings for granted and feel indifferent to them. There may be a feeling of something elusive missing despite your having everything you could ask for. This is the effect of Saturn in the zodiac sign of Pisces which may make you melancholic and lose interest in day to day affairs. The card is sometimes titled 'Indolence' and points at a tendency to leave projects halfway through, work unfinished and relationship issues unresolved. Instead of fighting it out and working your way through conflicts you choose to move on to and go off in search of something else. Try and resist the urge to quit when persistence is required, you may be very near to your goal. Saturn is a planet that teaches through hardship and there may be a lesson in perseverence for you today so whatever happens, do not give up. Keep on at it and you will find much to celebrate and be grateful for in your present life.

The Pentacles and Cups theme points to a quiet, passive but deep appreciation of the material and emotional aspects of your life. Try to keep your long term goal in focus even as you take a short break to indulge yourself. Avoid taking your success for granted, it's hard earned and needs constant hard work to sustain.
Have a lovely day!

Silence and Understanding

Today I am using the Osho Zen tarot deck to get some insight into the energies of the day.

The first card is Silence and this corresponds to card number 17 - The Star, in a traditional tarot deck. There is a deeply meditative, tranquil quality about this card. A stillness in which everything seems possible, everything seems just right. This is a place where you arrive at after a time of chaos and confusion. The calm that follows a storm. You are appreciative of the wisdom of the universe which may be incomprehensible but feels real. You will be generous today with the people around you and unafraid to reveal your vulnerabilities. You will somehow achieve a sense of balance after seeming to lose it. There will be a sense of belonging and security within you inspite of everything being just as it was. This feeling of trust would come from within and not depend on your external circumstances. However temporary this feeling, it will give you much hope and inspiration for the days ahead. Let yourself feel this silence within you deeply and knowingly and give your mind a break from constant analysis of right and wrong.

The other card is called Understanding in this deck and this corresponds to the Page of Cups in a traditional tarot deck. This card is all about allowing yourself to trust your instincts and first impressions about something or someone. This is similar to the realization a bird in a cage has of being able to finally spread her wings and fly out into the vacant expansive sky. It is exhilaration mixed with apprehension of the unknown. You may be a bit hesitant to acknowledge your own feelings about something or someone because they may seem illogical. However, your gut reactions may be important today and prove valuable in the future. Do not dismiss these thoughts, try and back these with some research so you can have a sound, rational basis in which to process your thoughts. Emotions will also play an important role in how you react to people and events today. Trust in your inner wisdom and allow yourself to go with the flow of things rather than engaging in self doubt or misgivings about others' intentions. Trust will take you forward and towards light.

Today is a good day to let your communication flow from a place of much emotional depth. You are instinctively perceptive of the fallible nature of human life and forgiveness and compassion will come easily. You will find it easy to rise above petty selfish issues and act maturely especially in close professional or personal relationships. Your positive energy will rub off on others and enable an atmosphere of calm. Stay blessed and have a great day!

Three and Four of Cups

Today I am using the Druidcraft tarot deck to get some insight into the opportunities and challenges in store for us.

The first card is the Three of Cups and this is a card of abundance, good health, communication and sharing. Astrologically ruled by Mercury in the zodiac sign of Cancer, this is about opening up to people and expanding your circle of friends and social influence. You may try and be part of a larger group or welcome someone new in your gang. Hanging out with friends and colleagues over a meal is likely with lots of gossip or sharing of important news. Meetings and exchange of ideas may be the order of the day as you spend time planning the activities for the week ahead. You may have a need for a closer, more emotional bond with your buddies or in your relationship and the feeling will be understood and reciprocated. There will be a sense of abundance and luxury about you and over indulgence is possible. Be open and honest while communicating your real feelings and enjoy the connection you make today with others, it will have a long term positive effect on your relationships.

The other card is the Four of Cups and this immediately follows the feelings depicted in the previous card. You may be bored and tired of the predictability or superficiality of human interactions. Astrologically, this is Moon in the zodiac sign of Cancer and suggests mood swings, lethary and emotional insecurities. This may manifest as sudden, inexplicable silence after a time of fun and frolic. Your change of mood may seem whimsical to others but you would be reluctant to explain your feeling, most likely because you yourself would be unaware of what caused it. Take some time to meditate at the end of the day and ask yourself what is it that causes you to lose interest and focus. Is it the lack of passion for what you do? Do you feel stuck with the routine and patterns in your life that seem to take you away from your real goal? What do you think you need to change in order to bring the passion and focus back? Do not let your mind wander today and waste your precious time in diffused, unclear thoughts. Focus on getting back to business as soon as possible.

There is an excess of the Water element today and how this is manifested in your life would depend on how you express your emotional energy. You can choose to enhance it by connecting with others and expressing your feelings in words or you can isolate yourself, turn inwards and seek out your inner truth. Expansion and contraction are easy to the water element as it assumes the shape of its vessel. However, it expresses itself best by flowing freely and nurturing. Nurturing others as well as yourself may be an important theme today so enjoy the conversation as well as the silence.
Have a great day!

Queen of Pentacles and the Seven of Wands

I am using the Radiant Rider Waite tarot for some insight into the energies this weekend.

The first card is the Queen of Pentacles and this represents all things in the physical, material realm such as money, health, the homestead and our day to day interactions with colleagues, friends and family. This is a fairly positive time to invest in some financial venture, assess your income and expenses and take care of all your physical assets including your body, work resources and your immediate environment. There is a strong feel of nature and nurture about this card. Spending time in natural surroundings may be therapeutic. If you have people under your care, including children and the elderly, make sure you're available for them and are able to provide the resources they need. In addition take time to nurture and pamper yourself. Prioritize for some alone time by enlisting the help of others and make sure to attend to your personal needs as you handle various responsibilities. Going out for a family outing or meal is likely. You will be eager to shower care and attention on others today as you feel good about yourself and the abundance in your life.

The other card is the Seven of Wands and this is about some kind of struggle for self importance. You may have some issues with self esteem this weekend and try to compensate for it by either assuming a more than usual assertive stance or being overly emotional or caring towards others. Try not to get involved too seriously in every single argument, save your energy for the battles that truly matter to you. Try also not to bend over backwards for others' sake so much that you neglect your own health and peace of mind. Avoid being too touchy about what people say to you in a casual manner. You may have to consciously remind yourself of the need for a balanced, win-win kind of approach. There will be high energy and this will enable to you handle any situation in a mature, responsible manner. Only remember not to go to extremes this weekend and remain playful through it all.

The Queen of Pentacles is a very earthy, feminine energy with a practical, sensible attitude towards life. The Seven of Wands is Mars in the zodiac sign of Leo and while it gives vigour and strength it may also point to some inner insecurities and egoistic behaviour. Both cards remind you to take care of your body and mind even as you are blessed with good health and vitality. Make enough time for relaxation and fun and have a lovely weekend!

Four of Wands and Justice

Today I am using the Robinwood tarot deck to get some insight into the important themes and influences of the day.

The first card is the Four of Wands and this is all about recognizing and celebrating a moment of beauty, freedom and joy. Astrologically, this is Venus in the zodiac sign of Aries. Venus stands for love and warmth in relationships and wholehearted enjoyment of the good things of life. It is the planet of good luck and beauty and brings much cheer and lightheartedness in the midst of our mundane cares and concerns. Aries brings qualities of great energy, vigour and vitality. You may celebrate completion of a milestone today or commemorate an event. Good time to take your relationship to the next level, renew your vows or re-establish contact with good friends or close family members. You may have a sense of freedom after a period of hard work and feel good about your achievements so far. Some of you may participate in community events or personal or private functions to show your support to a cause or person.

The other card is Justice and this represents your readiness to commit to an important cause or a new direction in your life. Astrologically, this is associated with the zodiac sign of Libra which is ruled by the planet Venus so we see a similar theme echoed here of good luck and appreciation for beauty, truth and positive thinking. You may experience a moment of mental clarity today with regards to the consequences of your actions and will be inspired to set things right or make amends for past mistakes. Relationships may see some breakthrough moments such as resolution of conflict or taking a fresh approach to things. There will be forward movement and growth in your plans for the next stage in your life. A good time for entering into contracts and settlement of any legal disputes. Make sure to act with integrity which is another key message of this card. Be fair even if you are emotionally disinclined to do so. Your words at this time can have varying implications so be mindful of how you communicate today.

Overall this week is ending on a very positive note with an empowering message that positive action will bring positive results in your life. Remember to celebrate your little successes and share your joy with others. Have a great day!

The Hermit and the Ten of Rods

Today I am using my Hanson Roberts tarot deck to get some insight into the energies of the day.

The first card is the Hermit and this represents a need for solitude and quiet introspection. You may be feeling a bit cynical about people around you or feel that being at the centre of wordly cares and responsibilities only drains your energy and vitality. You may seek isolation today in order to go within and dig deeper into what is really bothering you. An inward search for greater meaning or your life purpose will connect you with your real self. Use this period to contemplate and question your recent actions, the consequences that followed and why do you think you react in a certain way to events or people. Such questioning will lead to greater insight about yourself and knowing yourself is the whole purpose of your inner journey today. In more mundane scenarios you may be seeking some sort of information or involved in explanations to bring more clarity to the issue. A mentor or trusted friend may be able to throw light on an important matter.

The other card is the Ten of Rods and this shows the image of a man carrying ten rods uphill with great difficulty. You may be feeling a bit weary after a stressful period of hard work. You may have been denying or suppressing your own needs for the sake of others. Resist the urge to do everything perfectly or all by yourself. Seek help when you feel burdened and learn to say 'No' to additional responsibilities or people who make unfair demands on your time and tend to take you for granted. Astrologically this card represents Saturn in the zodiac sign of Sagittarius so you may need to depend on the power of your will and great inner strength to carry on despite low energy levels and lack of enthusiasm. Try not to take things too seriously. Life is meant to be lived with a certain playfulness and awareness that nothing remains forever. Things have to remain in constant motion as on a giant wheel where sometimes we go up and sometimes we come down only to go up again. So act with faith and hope that every little action is adding something to your life.

The astrological associations of the Hermit with Virgo and ten of Rods with Sagittarius represent the mutable energies of Earth and Fire elements respectively. You may feel a greater effect of your environment on your moods today. Try to draw inspiration from within yourself and consciously seek out opportunities to be lighthearted and joyful.
Have a great day!
