Weekly tarot forecast - Dec 28 to Jan 3

Card images from the Hanson Roberts tarot deck:
Knight of Cups, Five of Swords, Ace of Rods
Here's your tarot forecast for the upcoming week. I am using the Hanson Roberts tarot deck for this reading.

Card1 - Knight of Cups: This card represents the key atmosphere or energy this week. Being a knight this represents forward movement, excitement and pursuit of something in the emotional realm.

The mood is romantic and optimistic with someone bringing a message of love and the promise of a bright future in your life. It could literally represent a lover for some people, a soulmate or someone with whom you have always felt a strong emotional connection. This is a good time for opening up to people, expressing your real feelings, showing affection and understanding and being materially and spiritually generous to people around you.

Card 2 - Five of Swords: This card represents your reaction to the energy shown by card 1 and here it shows a card of conflict and challenge. Swords are symbolic of problems related to thoughts, words and ethics. The fives in tarot all represent some kind of challenge experienced halfway through a phase in life. You may react to the optimism or positive energy of someone close to you with suspicion or a feeling of resentment based on past issues. You may want to snub friendly gestures, hold a grudge for something said in jest and in general react with hostility and unnecessary aggression.

Try not to scrutinize every little action of others under a magnifying lens and choose to focus on the bigger picture of life. Remember that tit for tat may not always be the right policy and some petty wins really are no more than a pyrrhic victory leading to regret and unhappiness in future. Try and achieve a win-win situation by choosing to act consciously instead of reacting unconsciously to events and words as if on auto pilot.

Card 3 - Ace of Rods: This card represents how things will progress. The Aces in tarot all represent a new beginning and as the Rods, or Wands as they are traditionally known, are symbolic of drive, ambition, passion and ego, the Ace of Rods signifies an opportunity in this realm that is still in the developing stage and has great potential to grow.

This week, proceeding directly after the Five of Swords and the feelings of conflict it often leads to, this Ace seems to represent a toughening of stance, ego issues on the rise and a general feeling of assertiveness that may turn to aggressiveness.

As is the case with this particular 3 card spread, your point of power and change is card number 2. Pay attention to your thoughts and actions this week and try to resist the urge to get swept along the current. Certain events may not be under your control but by being in control of your reactions to these events you can certainly change the direction of future events. Even if you are unable to do so entirely remain conscious of the consequences of your actions and the power you always hold within yourself in choosing to act a certain way.
Have a wonderful week!
