Justice and the High Priestess

I am using the Druidcraft tarot deck to tune into the energies of the day.

The first card is Justice and this represents the opportunities and strengths that we can leverage today. Astrologically this corresponds to the zodiac sign of Libra and elementally this is the energy of Air. As shown in the image this is a card concerned with justice, consequences and decisions. You may have to take an important decision today or maybe you are awaiting the result of some past action. This card has a very karmic significance and shows up when there is a need to recognize and analyze the consequences of our actions. Often we end up putting the blame for things gone wrong on outside sources when it is actually our own doing. It takes a while before realization sets in and we prepare ourself to take responsibility for our actions. Today is an opportunity to see your life with clarity, without letting emotions cloud your better judgement. Something in your life needs to be dealt with a mature sense of fairness. Where you find yourself at present is a reaction of what you have been doing in the past and now is the time to set the balance right. It is the time to do what you know is right and not let self limiting beliefs come in the way.

The other card is the High Priestess and this has an astrological correpondence with the Moon, which rules our intuition and inner mind. Elementally this is the energy of water and represents the deep knowledge that usually lies buried in our unconscious and subconscious minds. There is an element of secret knowledge about this card, an inner knowing that cannot be explained rationally. You may have a feeling that there is something more going on behind the scenes but you may be unable to pinpoint its influence in your present life. The challenge this card represents is the conflict between knowledge and action. You know something but you are unable to act on it. This is a card of inaction, of suspending activity, observing but not participating and letting things unfold on their own. Considering that the first card of Justice exhorts you to be decisive and take the right action, the High Priestess is urging you to do just the opposite by not participating in any activity. This is a challenge to overcome today, the need you feel inside to not act, to let things be.

The Air and Water energies are not incompatible but the conflicts suggested by these two major arcana cards may manifest as something very real today. Also, as the High Priestess is card number 2 in tarot and Justice is card number 11 that reduces to number 2 (1+1), there is an element of duality, polarity, choice and contradiction. Understand the need to remain clear headed today about what you need to do and do it. Staying on the side of truth will lead you to greater enlightenment and empowerment.
Have a wonderful day!

Death and the Four of Cups

Today I am using the Hanson Roberts tarot deck to get some insight into the opportunities and the challenges that may come up during the day.

The first card is Death which astrologically corresponds to the zodiac sign of Scorpio and represents the opportunities. Although the word sounds threatening, this has nothing to do with actual demise. Death stands for endings and as ending of something heralds a beginning of something else, this has more to do with regeneration and transformation rather than destruction. It signals that something in your life is coming to a natural, logical end and must be given up to make way for a new beginning. Often our first reaction to change of any kind is fear and resistance, and that, more than the actual event, is a cause of pain. When we give up resisting against the forces of nature and allow energy to flow freely we realize the higher purpose behind things that seem out of our control. The end is not only necessary it is often the only way to maintain order in what would otherwise be a very chaotic environment. It may cause temporary unease but it leads to harmony and balance in the long term. If there is something in your life that you need to let go, do it now. Understand the significance of letting old patterns die and making way for inner transformation. Acceptance of higher forces is important today in order to go forward.

The other card is the Four of Cups and this being the effect of moon in the zodiac sign of cancer leads to your going inward and seeking deeper meaning into what's going on in your outer environment. You may be aware of a certain sense of disillusionment or boredom with what you can see of your life at the moment. An undercurrent of dissatisfaction may be palpable although there is logically no reason for you to feel so. You may be reluctant to let go of some past issues or memories. Spend some quiet time alone today to analyze your feelings about the past and why you are holding on to it. Understanding the need to let go and taking the steps to do so is important. There may be some interesting opportunities for you around so do not miss them. Analyze the past and will yourself to move on and live in the present moment. Remember that your resistance to change that is inevitable will not prevent it. It will only prolong the agony and confusion. The sooner you accept that life has only forward to go the easier the transition will be.

Both the cards represent the elemental energy of water which means the focus will be on matters of the heart - your emotions, relationships and inner life. Your attitude towards change and how you face it will give you a deep awareness of your unconscious desires and motives in life. Move on with confidence and the knowledge that even if you do not have control over external events, you certainly have a lot of power within to think and act consciously, knowingly, fearlessly.
Have a great day!

Awareness and Going with the flow

Today I am using the Osho Zen tarot deck to get some insight into the opportunities and challenges that we may experience during the course of the day.

The first card is Awareness and this corresponds to major arcana card number 7, the Chariot, in a traditional tarot deck. This card is all about awareness of the dichotomy that exists between our real self and the ego, the body and the mind, and taking control of the conflicting voices of our conscious and unconscious minds to forge ahead. In everyday situations it bodes success in all endeavours, especially professional ventures, victory over adversaries and leadership qualities. You will be in total control of your emotions and focused on your goal today. There might be distractions pulling you in different directions but you will be able to rein in all obstructive influences through your will power. An inner knowledge will guide you and propel you forward, giving you full confidence in your own abilities. You will be able to overcome any minor hurdles and annoyances today with your mature understanding. New professional opportunities may come your way and a work related trip is also likely.

The other card is Going with the Flow and this corresponds to the Ace of Cups in a traditional tarot deck. As depicted in the image this one is all about letting up control and letting the current take you wherever possible. The challenge is in recognizing where you want to go and consciously moving in that direction rather than drifting aimlessly. This is a contradiction of the previous card in many ways although both are about the same elemental energy of water. Water is free flowing and prone to scattering itself; however, when directed with purpose it is a formidable force that not only knows how to find its way to its destination but has the power to destroy all that comes in the way. The challenge is in harnessing this tremendous water power that manifests in the form of emotions, feelings, relationships and inner knowing. There may be a sense of drifting today, a sense of letting things be and giving up control, however, there is also a desire to carve your own path and this is where Awareness can lift you out of your ennui and take charge of life. Be aware of your strengths and weaknesses and draw a definite plan with regards to what you want to do and where you want your life to go.

A day where your feelings and emotions will provide the much necessary impetus to your spirit and drive. Making a goal and sticking to it will be important today to avoid dissipation and waste of time and energy. Remember nothing can manifest in reality without action so act in full faith that you simply cannot go wrong.
Have a lovely day!

Page of Swords and the Three of Cups

I am using the Crystal Visions tarot deck to get insight into some of the day's themes and influences.

The first card is the Page of Swords and this represents the side of us that is sharp, curious, chatty and concerned with making sense of things around us. Pages represent potential and information that can often have sudden impact on our emotions. Words need to be used and processed with maturity today as knee jerk reactions may cause misunderstandings and confusions. You could be blunt, thoughtless or insensitive so think before going ahead with giving someone a piece of your mind. Especially guard against rushing into someone else's battle. We often end up causing more harm than good when we try to mediate in an argument which would otherwise have resolved on its own. Avoid the impulse to react to any information made available to you. There may be more going on so make sure you know the background story to an event before jumping to conclusions. You may feel threatened by a group of people, rather irrationally, and tend to cloak your vulnerability behind words, wit or an abrasive attitude. This feeling is temporary and would develop into greater and deeper understanding with time so take things in your stride while choosing to act with wisdom and compassion.

The other card is the Three of Cups which brings the energy of the water element and has everything to do with feelings, emotions and relationships. You may connect with friends, partners or colleagues with lots to share on each side. Office gossip may be in order as also turning to your emotional support groups for solace. This is astrologically Mercury in the zodiac sign of cancer so communication will be extremely important today especially with regards to your emotional make up. Group planning and strategizing, or a networking session is likely. Some of you may take the time to celebrate a minor milestone completion. There could be an expansion of your social or professional circle. Take advantage also of the opportunity to offer your emotional support to someone who may need it. A good time to renew old connections and make some new ones.

The blend of air and water energies is comforting and brings a healthy balance today between your logical mind and deeper feelings. Use communication as an opportunity to expand your own boundaries and enhance your understanding of other people.
Have a great day!

Eight of Wands and the Ace of Pentacles

It's the turn of my Morgan Greer tarot deck to give us some insight into the energies of this weekend.

The first card is the Eight of Wands and this represents the elemental energy of fire. Astrologically this is Mercury in the zodiac sign of Sagittarius and stands for movement, growth and swiftness especially with regards to communication and work plans. This could manifest as an important information or news coming your way, plans materializing, projects taking off and completion of milestones. There is an abundance or rather a surge of energy, especially with regards to beginnings and endings of a task or goal. Things will get fast tracked and set in motion. However, you may be a bit impatient and reluctant to wait, often wanting quick results. You will be quick to organize events and plan exciting, adventurous activities today. You may have a ton of ideas in your mind but remember to focus your intellect on a chosen few areas otherwise you may end up scattering all that energy. Your positive outlook and enthusiasm will inspire others and help you materialise plans.

The other card is the Ace of Pentacles and this represents the elemental energy of Earth, concerned with all practical, physical matters in the material realm. Aces are all about new beginnings, opportunities and initiatives. There is a feeling of security, satisfaction and blessing about this Ace. It brings a gift of abundance in all earthy matters of your life such as health, finances, resources connected with the homestead and family relationships. You may have to work your way towards this kind of abundance, it may not always be given on a platter but every little effort in the right direction will be worthwhile. You may have to dig deep into the ground to reach the treasure but rest assured that it is there. Focusing on what you want to manifest in your life is important. A monetary opportunity may also come your way, a raise or bonus, or a gift from someone special. This is also an opportunity to recognize the areas of your life where you are blessed with abundance and keep them protected. Simple moments of fun with friends and family will bring much cheer. Spending time outdoors in natural surroundings will bring you the gift of health so step out  and enjoy the wind and the sunshine as you bring on the weekend.

The fire and earth energies of wands and pentacles promise a weekend full of action with just the right amount of grounding needed to materialise your dreams. Watch out for any important communication, idea or news that might bring an interesting opportunity. Have a lovely weekend!

Knight of Pentacles and the Magician

Today I am using the Robinwood tarot deck to get some insight into the opportunities and challenges we might experience.

The first card is the Knight of Pentacles and this represents the elemental energy of earth. Knights are associated with action, adventure and goals and pentacles has everything to do with the physical, material realm that includes money, finances, day to day work activities, health and all our assets and possessions. An opportunity in these areas may be likely. This knight is also the most stable and dependable among the four knights in tarot so it bodes well for financial matters. If you are considering a new investment or job make sure to be thorough with all the preparatory aspects of it and keep your paper work up to date. A slow, deliberate and cautious approach would be best today with regards to work activities or relationship issues. This is a time to be practical and avoid unnecessary risks. Tread on safe waters and prefer the tried and tested route today that will ensure you expend the least effort and get the most out of it. This knight is nothing if not goal oriented so today is a very good opportunity to get something completed and ticked off your list. So 'finishatives' not initiatives will be the highlight of the day.

The second card is the Magician and this is a major arcana card and may have greater significance today. This represents the planet Mercury which rules the intellect, communication and all forms of mental and intellectual processes. Today this represents the challenges so you may find it difficult to recognize the great power of your Will. Often we are reluctant to assume complete responsibility for our actions, choosing to blame external circumstances, events and people instead for our state. But ultimately the power within is the one that enables us to push against external forces and fulfill our purpose in life. We make our life by thinking the thoughts we think and willing things to happen. Our consciously directed actions are what help us physically manifest the life we lead. Be aware of any unconscious, knee jerk reactions to situations today that take your power away. Be aware also of someone who may try to manipulate you into reacting in a negative way. Avoid such manipulations and choose to act as per your will, keeping in mind the consequences of your actions. Awareness of your actions and the effect they have on your life may be an important lesson today.

There may be some kind of conflict between what you want to do and what is practically advisable today. The earth and air energies do not integrate with ease so effort may be required on your part to make things happen. Ultimately it would depend on the strength of your will and the persistence to follow through. So if something means a lot, keep on at it and your perseverence will pay off finally but if it is not what you truly desire it may be wise to remain steady and follow convention.
Have a great day!

Four of Swords and Temperance

Today I am using the Druidcraft tarot deck to tune into the energies of the day.

The first card is the Four of Swords and this shows a man resting against the trunk of a tree with four swords lying next to him. He seems a bit pensive and lost in thought. Other depictions of this card usually show a knight in armour resting after a temporary truce in battle or someone recuperating after an illness. There is a sense of calm, however briefly it may be felt, and a need to disengage from active pursuits. The number four is concerned with concentration and consolidation of energy and suggests a period of inaction and going within. There is a feeling of security about it but there may also be a sense of boredom or disillusionment. This is a good time to just let yourself be and draw strength from your core. Take a minute to ponder over your life. Where is it that you truly want to go? Are your actions in line with your deeper, really important goals? What matters most to you and what needs to be protected? There may be a need for solitude today to conserve your strength. Health may need attention so avoid undue stress and take it easy with respect to your responsibilities. This is a time to let go of any communication issues or arguments in favour of your peace of mind.

The other card is called Ferylt in this deck and this corresponds to the major arcana number 14 and called Temperance. The image is of the Celtic sorceress Ceridwen preparing a magical life potion and is representative of the vital blending of contrasting but complementing energies that is needed to sustain life. Temperance is about balance, finding the right mix for your life and taking the right steps to put your life in balance. The card shows up when we need to put our life in order to correct various imbalances. Ask yourself where you are exhibiting excess or what area of life is out of balance. This is specially important in matters related to body and spirit. Any health concerns need to be attended to. Diet and exercise may be in focus. Are you being too practical, too emotional, too ambitious or too argumentative? Any excesses need to be tempered so recognize those areas and do what needs to be done to restore harmony.

Overall energies of the day point towards a need for slowing down and taking care of yourself in every sense. Four of swords is astrologically Jupiter in the zodiac sign of Libra while Temperance corresponds to the zodiac sign of Sagittarius which is ruled by Jupiter. Today being Thursday is again ruled by Jupiter which is a greatly benefic planet that bestows good fortune and higher wisdom. Whatever concerns you may have today would have a long term benefic effect on your life. Sometimes the need to slow down manifests in order to prevent breakdown or loss of energy. Take this opportunity to restore yourself in body, mind and spirit and remain focused on the positive.
Have a great day!
