Rebirth and the Three of Swords

I am using the Druidcraft tarot deck to get some insights into the positive and negative energies of the day.

The first card is called Rebirth and this is actually the Judgment card in the Rider Waite deck and a major arcana card pointing to something more meaningful in your life. Rebirth is all about making a new beginning and taking a fresh approach to life. There has been some sort of self realization which has led to shedding of old beliefs and moving away from an unenlightened past. Now is the time to take action in a new direction that feels more authentic, honest and purposeful. It's about listening to your heart's true call and paying heed to what it is trying to convey. It's time to come out of the old, rigid structure of ignorance and trivial pursuits that had confined you for a long time and move forward into the bright sunshine of knowledge. This is a card of freedom so there is a strong sense of your own individuality today. You are no longer content to follow others but want to forge your own path. You could be making plans with regards to the new life you intend to lead. Remember to trust your intuition today and take solid, actionable steps towards your goal.

The other card is the Three of Swords and this represents the challenging aspects of the day that you would need to overcome. This card potrays some sort of sorrow or heart break or a communication deadlock. However, because this is elementally Air energy, this is more in the realm of thoughts and mental processes rather than actual physical pain. So you could be feeling a bit more sensitive today or be touchy with regards to little things, criticism or thoughtless words said in jest. Try not to take things too personally or get into unnecessary arguments. Also, be clear in communicating your needs and be realistic when it comes to your expectations of others. This card can show up when we are too self absorbed and end up making much of little issues. Try and focus on the bigger picture and not let your thoughts constrict your judgment. Also, where the matter concerns two people, try to avoid getting or being a third party. Remember the heartache shown in the three of swords is of a transient nature and very often dependent on our reaction to external events. Act with awareness and understand that the little ups and downs of life are woven into a larger fabric of your life and provide learning and wisdom for the future.

Overall, the Fire energy of Judgement and the Air energy of swords point to an active, busy day with little opportunity to express your emotions. Try and spend some time, especially end of the day, doing  something to help you mentally unwind and relax.
Have a great day!

Guidance and Schizophrenia

Today I am using the Osho Zen tarot deck to tune into the energies of the day and see what opportunities and challenges we have in store.

The first card is Guidance which corresponds to the Three of Pentacles in a traditional tarot deck and this represents the opportunities we can leverage today. Guidance is about trusting and having confidence in your own abilities. This is a very earthy energy so all practical matters involving your day to day work, finances, health and the homestead are involved. It is important to be vigilant about these areas of your life and work towards making them better. You have to constantly strive towards improvement in these areas and every little effort counts. In addition you need to consider established expert opinion on these matters and work according to a well defined plan. Follow the guidance that is traditionally considered a best practice in these areas when in doubt. If it's a health related issue on your mind consult a doctor. If finances need sorting turn to the best professional in the particular area. Not getting the hang of things at work? Seek your bosses' opinion on the best way to tackle it. The best advice comes from experience so value it in others and add to your own. Today is a good opportunity to enhance your understanding of things and build up your skills.

The other card is called Schizophrenia and it is the Two of Swords in traditional tarot. It shows a man suspended between two cliffs and hovering far above the clouds with the classic dilemma of man - to be or not to be. To go right or left, to jump or remain hanging, to hold on or let go. These questions, whenever we are confronted with them, cause a feeling of great unease and cloud our mind with a tangle of desires and expectations. There is a sense of division, as if you've been split into two. Taking a tough decision means choosing one road to travel and forgoing the other. No matter how much you defer the decision, you know you cannot do so indefinitely, so look deep within your heart and trust your instincts to tell you which way to go. When there is no rational way of finding the truth, let go and listen to the voice of your intuition, it's soft but crystal clear. Stop thinking so much about pros and cons when it is not helping you and just go with the flow of things. Open your eyes to the truth and see the signs the universe is trying to show you.

There could be some mixed emotions today as your energies manifest in the physical and mental realms. Try and get a feel for things on an emotional level today instead of just looking at it practically or intellectually. Your feelings about a particular situation or person may hold the key to greater understanding. Have a great day!

Eight of Air and Nine of Water

Often it is difficult for us to see the silver lining in those dark clouds hovering above our heads. And just as we expect the storm to worsen, there appears, as if by magic, a little crack, the clouds part and the darkness lifts as we see rays of gold making their way towards us. Miracles and magic happen around us all the time, if only we would wait for the clouds to part with hope and faith in our heart. So hoping for a truly wonderful weekend, I asked my Angel Tarot deck about the positive and negative aspects of the day.

The first card is the Eight of Air and this represents the strengths and opportunities today. The card corresponds to the Eight of Swords in traditional tarot deck where the image shown is of a woman blindfolded, with hands tied and surrounded by eight swords. The landscape is uneven and precarious and the atmosphere is bleak. At first glance there seems to be no hope for this woman. If she tries to free herself, she risks getting scraped by the swords and if she does nothing she remains trapped. But look closely and you see that a very simple solution to her problem does exist. Her legs are not tied and she can simply walk away from this situation. A retreat is the only way she can save herself from this issue. How many times do we get entangled in such situations and fail to take advantage of this simple solution! We feel we cannot back off once we have got in here. Our ego overwhelms our higher instinct and we remain trapped by our thoughts, thinking there is no other way out. And being trapped in such a situation undermines our confidence and slowly erodes our self esteem. It just appears to be a hopeless situation. But it's not.

Today you have the opportunity to look for simple solutions to your problems that seem too big to handle. The simplest solution is often not the most palatable or ego boosting. But it is the most liberating. Stop the constant chatter of your ego today and rise above trivial concerns like reputation, keeping up a false appearace, doing things you don't really want to do but you think you must for the sake of respectability and making yourself miserable over past mistakes of yourself or others. Choose freedom over entrapment today and just walk away from whatever's holding you back. Step back, give up the argument, retreat will only bruise your ego for a while but it will nourish your soul and save your time for better, bigger things.

The other card is Nine of Water and this is the Nine of Cups in a traditional deck. Today this represents the challenges or weakness you may need to overcome. And let me tell you straight up it is one of the most positive cards in tarot and is known as the wish fulfillment card. Challenge? Weakness? Doesn't seem to go along with this one, does it? Look again. This card shows up when there is abundance in your life. In the Rider Waite tarot it shows a figure with a supremely happy expression on his face, surrounded by food and drink, his cups of happiness overflowing. And therein lies the catch. Too much of a good thing. That's all you need to guard against. Excess. Overindulgence. Laziness. Dissipation. This is a good time to celebrate and have fun, only remember to exercise caution and do everything in moderation. You are promised emotional fulfillment and simple joyful pleasures this weekend.

Overall, there seems to be a good balance between emotional (water) and rational (air) energies. Remember freedom from negativity will lead to greater joy so minimize self created restrictions and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
Have a fabulous weekend!

The Hermit and Judgment

Today I am using the gorgeous Crystal Visions tarot deck to throw light on what we can expect during the course of the day.

The first card is the Hermit which is a Major arcana card pointing to a need for solitude and quiet contemplation. Maybe you need some time off to recharge your batteries after a whirlwind week full of work and responsibilities. You could be asking deeper questions to yourself today and assessing your situation. The card represents the astrological sign of Virgo which is known for its need for perfection and attention to detail. You could be obsessing over something or trying to find minor faults when you should ideally be having a good time. There is a need within you to know more about something or someone. Or it could be about yourself as you try to make sense of your motivations and desires. Going within is important from time to time to assess where we are and where we want to go. Take this as an opportunity to know yourself on a deeper level today.

The second card is Judgment and this too is a major arcana card pointing to something significant in your life. This card is about the end of a period of evaluation and beginning of a new, more authentic phase in your life where you have complete awareness of what you want to do and why you want to do it. Something will be brought to your attention today and you must pay heed to it. Real transformation starts when we consciously listen to our inner voice and act in complete alignment with our true self, rejecting a life of lie and false appearances. This card is about waking up and recognizing your true purpose.
On a more mundane level this card may suggest an examination of the work done or things said in the past. You could be judged for your past actions and it will be wise to accept that judgment as a consequence of your actions and move forward with more understanding of yourself and others.

Overall, there seems to be a strong energy today for self evaluation and starting a new chapter in your life. You may recognize the need for change in any area of your life, work, relationships, health..and opportunity may literally come knocking at your door so make sure to keep your eyes and ears open.
Have a great day!

Two and the Ten of Swords

Today I am using the Morgan Greer tarot deck to get some insight into the energies of the day.

The first card is the Two of Swords and this is representative of the Air element which plays out in the realm of thoughts, communication and decision making. As seen in the image of the blindfolded woman holding two swords crossed against her chest there is a sense of vulnerability about this card. You may find yourself vulnerable to conflicting thoughts or torn between two choices. This is the classic dilemma caused because of the perception of duality. Right or wrong, good or evil, sensible or foolhardy, you just cannot seem to make up your mind about something. And because of a heightened awareness of your fears and insecurities around the issue in question, your instinct for self preservation may cause you to avoid facing the reality of your situation. That may the the best way for now. Avoid taking sides or getting into an argument today. Your best bet is to defer action until you are more sure of which way you want to go or until more information becomes available. Avoid taking a decision in this state of mind, make sure you are aware of the facts before taking the plunge in any direction.

The second card is the Ten of Swords and this may look rather bleak at first glance but it's not a hopeless situation. The number ten suggests both the ending of a cycle and beginning of another. This card shows a night scene but far out the horizon one can see a new dawn breaking. And the swords that have struck the figure in the card down represent thoughts or words that can leave you wounded and without hope. But losing hope is pointless and that is the message of this card. Whatever pain your recent situation might have caused, whatever hurt sharp words might have inflicted upon you, remember the pain and the hurt is coming to an end. There are two ways to deal with tragedy, to grumble about it and crumble under its weight or to learn a lesson and earn experience. Today is a day to recognize any pattern in your attitude toward challenges. Do you allow yourself to be struck down and lose hope? Or do you understand that this is just a phase that will pass soon and make you a stronger, more resilient person. Avoid self pity and thinking you are singled out for difficult times. Remember your pain is the result of too many swords bearing down on you and swords are thoughts and thoughts can be cast aside. Shift the energy by consciously transforming your negative thoughts into positive affirmations.

Overall it is a day where much would depend on your perception of things and whether you accept reality or turn away from it. The figures on both the cards are unable to face the truth and that may be the reason for their predicament. Open your eyes to the truth, acknowledge it and move forward with faith and courage.
Have a great day!

Six of Wands and the Fool

Today I am using the Druidcraft tarot deck to tune into the energies of the day.

The first card represents the positive aspects of the day, the strengths that you can leverage and the opportunities that may manifest and it is the Six of Wands. Astrologically, this is Jupiter in Leo and represents the Fire element at its best. It is a card of professional success and personal glory.
You've won the battle and are poised to receive recognition for your efforts. You have confidence in your abilities and an innate sense of worth that radiates in your personality. Now is the time to truly bask in the sunshine and celebrate the moment. You may have completed a milestone or brought an issue to closure. However minor the task may be it gives a huge boost to your self esteem and is positively uplifting and inspiring. There is a quality of a natural leader about you.

Today is the day to enjoy your success without any misgivings about whether you deserve it or not. Deep inside you is an awareness that you deserve to take pride in your accomplishments and the compliments coming your way. This is not an accidental victory gained by good fortune, it is the result of a lot of struggle, perseverance and  hard work. Remember that if you feel too heady in your exuberence or find it hard to keep your feet on the ground. Remember also that once the celebration is over you will need to sustain this high level of competence. So enjoy your glory and share it with the people who look up to you.

The other card is the Fool and this represents the energy that may hinder us or prove challenging today. I feel today the Fool's purpose is cautionary rather than pointing to actual hindrance. It tells you to guard against over confidence and not do something foolish with complete disregard to consequences. Take calculated risks, not bizarre leaps of irrationality. The Fool is also about complete, unshakeable trust. You may want to avoid that kind of naivety today. Have faith in the basic goodness of people but avoid being taken for a ride. Especially be cautious around someone who you have reason to doubt.

Overall, the day holds a lot of promise. Fire and Air are both active and compatible elements, signifying enthusiasm, creativity, an outward focus and boundless energy. Make good use of this energy and have a great day!

Guidance and the Mind

Today I am using my Osho Zen tarot deck to get some insight into the positive and negative energies of the day.

The first card is Guidance and this represents the quality we need to embrace today in order to bring ourselves into a zen like state of calm. This card is the Three of Pentacles in a traditional tarot deck and it shows a woman being gently but firmly guided towards a source of light by an angel. We often get such inspiration within our heart that keeps us on our path and does not let us get distracted from our goal. It may be easier today to complete some unfinished tasks as you are nudged in the right direction by a mentor or someone you look up to. The inspiration may also come from within as you keep yourself focused on the job at hand and concentrate on doing your best work. Be grateful for any advice given by others and learn from any criticism given in a positive way. Allow yourself to be guided by those who have more experience and expertise than you and try to do the same for those who are less experienced than you. It does not even have to be a person, it could be a plan of action that provides the requisite guidance today - a project plan, a brief or a set of instructions that you are supposed to follow at work. Follow the guidance given and you'll find it easy to get through any tangles.

The second card is Mind and this is the Page of Swords in a traditional tarot deck. It represents the quality that can disturb our serenity and peace of mind today. As seen in the image, a lot seems to be going on in this person's mind. There is too much thinking, analyzing, processing and too little room for real understanding that comes simply through experience. It seems this person is in a hurry to know everything right now. There is an immature quality about the hyperactive mind that causes immense misery. This is a situation in which mind is controlling the person instead of the person controlling his or her mind. Avoid giving up your power. Understand that the mind cannot 'do' anything, it can only 'think' and thoughts can be changed. Make a conscious decision today to unclutter your mind of thoughts that are not immediately relevant or are destructive of your peace. Stop analyzing or making judgements about things and people, you cannot understand everything through logic. Trust that the right information will be made available to you at the right time and you need not work everything out yourself in the present moment.

The overall message these cards have for us today is to let go of any mental processing and keep yourself focused in work. You will be shown the way, just keep going along knowing you're on the right track.
Have a great day!
